“Life doesn’t come with a manual, it comes with a mother”
Cello’s Main aur Maa campaign is an emotional potrayal of a mother’s love for her daughter. Centered around the brand’s tagline – ‘Companion for Life’ – the ad film compels you to reflect upon your relationship with your mother and stays with you long after you have watched it.
It’s heartening to see brands take the long-format route. It’s usually a risk if your story telling isn’t engaging enough. Needless to say Cello’s story-telling is quite gripping in the video. The ad film has now garnered more than a million views across Facebook and YouTube, and isn’t looking to stop.
So, what worked for the film?
Relatable characters and instances. We saw ourselves in the protagonists of the video. Every mother and daughter has experienced the same things.
“Mujhe kya chahiye, hamesha mujhse pehle tumhe pata chal jata tha”, “Bade hone par meri ek doosri duniya ban chuki thi”, “tumhaari badmaash beti” – these are all just too real for us to relate to.
The daughter’s brutally honest narrative. It gives you goosebumps.
